Dr. Bergin

Dr. Bergin is a licensed, board certified chiropractic internist with certification coursework in orthopedics and manipulation under anesthesia. In addition to his work with the Mercola Natural Health Center, Dr. Bergin runs a private practice, serves as a consultant on chiropractic and nutritional issues and has taught extensively in the chiropractic field.

Dr. Bergin has been a chiropractor for 27 years. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in behavioral science/psychology from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, he attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology, as well as his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Bergin later went on to become board certified as a chiropractic internist by the American Board of Chiropractic Internists.

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Bergin has devoted his career to teaching future health practitioners. He has served as a professor at a number of schools including: National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL. He also served as a proctor for the American Board of Chiropractic Internists' diplomate board examinations.

Dr. Bergin has had a number of articles published in scientific journals and currently sits on the editorial review board of the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Chiropractic Physicians, as well as a member of numerous professional organizations, including: the Illinois Chiropractic Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Board of Chiropractic Internists and American College of Medical Practice Executives, among others.

Dr. Bergin's clinical focus includes patient partnered health care for the entire family. Special interests and skills focus on cardiac disease prevention and treatment of food allergy and sensitivities.
